Homophobic Backlash targeted at Alex Chidiac and Tash Prior

Sport in Australia is becoming more inclusive every day, but not in women’s football yet. This reality has sadly been put on display after homophobic abuse was target to two a-league stars, who also are capped Matildas. Attached below is an image off of Alex Chidiac’s story, and also a statement from The Players Football Association Australia. This has occurred in 2 seperate games in Matchday 9 of the Ninja A-League. Homophobia is becoming a hell of a lot more prevelant in so called ‘Male Sports’, such as soccer, rugby, cricket and many others. Shaming female athletes, and anyone who is LGBTQ+ in today society is someone that no one should have to live with. There is no room for homophobia in women’s soccer.
