SC Freiburg will face TSG Hoffenheim in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga, with both teams fighting for important points in the upper midfield of the table. Freiburg currently sits in 5th place, while Hoffenheim is just two points behind in 7th. With both teams looking to move up the standings, this promises to be a competitive and closely contested match.

Freiburg has collected 20 points from 12 games (6 wins, 2 draws, 4 losses) and has a goal difference of 20:19, highlighting their attacking strength but also their defensive vulnerabilities.

The team’s top scorers, Shekiera Martinez and Cora Zicai, have each netted five goals this season. However, Freiburg suffered a significant loss in the winter transfer window with Martinez's move to West Ham United, which could weaken their offensive power. This puts more responsibility on Cora Zicai, who made her debut for the German national team in November 2024 at just 20 years old. Another key player is Selina Vobian, who has provided 5 assists and plays a crucial role in Freiburg’s attacking creativity.

Freiburg showed strong form during the winter break, winning 7-0 against Aarau (Switzerland) and 4-0 against SC Sand (2. Bundesliga).

Hoffenheim, currently in 7th place with 18 points from 12 games (6 wins, 0 draws, 4 losses), has a slightly better goal difference (21:18) and a more evenly distributed attack.

Unlike Freiburg, where much of the scoring responsibility fell on two players, Hoffenheim’s goals are spread across multiple attacking options. Selina Cerci (5 goals), who joined from 1. FC Köln in the summer, has quickly become a key striker. Marta Caralla (4 goals) and Melissa Kössler (3 goals) have also contributed, but one of the most dangerous players has been Erëleta Memeti (4 goals, 5 assists), who is both a goal scorer and a playmaker.

Hoffenheim also performed well in their winter break test matches, securing a 3-1 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg (2. Bundesliga) and a 3-0 win over league rival Carl Zeiss Jena.

The last meeting between these two teams ended in a thrilling 3-2 win for Freiburg. Although Hoffenheim had more possession and better chances, Freiburg was clinical in front of goal, converting their opportunities efficiently.

This upcoming clash is expected to be just as tight, with both teams demonstrating strong attacking potential. Freiburg will need to compensate for the loss of Shekiera Martinez, while Hoffenheim’s versatile offensive lineup could be an advantage. With both sides eager to climb higher in the table, an intense match with goal-scoring opportunities on both ends is highly likely.
