Tobin Heath officially announced her retirement three years after her last professional game.

She retires from the game after an incredible career in which she earned 181 caps for the United States and took home two world cup wins and two Olympic gold medals just to name a few.

Along with the international success, within her club career she played in 3 different countries notably winning two NWSL championships in 2013 and 2017 for Portland Thorns alongside two NWSL shields one in 2016 with Portland Thorns and the second in 2022 with OL Reign.

Additionally Heath, who played as a forward and midfielder, also racked up a plethora of individual awards.

While she had great success, unfortunately since 2021 Heath has been plagued with injuries.

In January 2021, while with Manchester United, she was sidelined with an ankle injury and then during her rehab back to fitness she suffered a knee injury in April 2021.

She then made the move to Arsenal in September 2021, however in April 2022, both parties mutually agreed to terminate the contract early after Heath was ruled out of the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

She then returned back to the US playing for OL Reign (Now named Seattle Reign) in the NWSL but didn’t play a lot of matches due to a season-ending knee injury in September 2022. At the end of that season, she became a free agent with OL Reign not renewing her contract.

Away from football, Heath co-owns a clothing brand, RE-INC, with her partner Christen Press, who currently plays for Angel City and former women’s footballers Megan Rapinoe and Meghan Klingenberg. She also hosts a show called The RE-CAP show with Christen Press, which can be found on YouTube.
