Liverpool sign Júlia Bartel on loan from Chelsea

Liverpool have made another January signing and this time it’s Spanish midfielder, Júlia Bartel.

The 20-year-old signed for Chelsea from Barcelona in July 2024, debuting in October where she helped the Blues secure their 3-1 win against FC Twente.

Júlia made 104 appearances and scored 13 goals for Barcelona B team, where she won back-to-back titles in 2022-23 and 2023-24.  In. 2021, Bartel made her first of four appearances for the first team where she provided an assist to ex-teammate and idol, Aitana Bonmatí.

“I’m very happy to be in Liverpool, in a big club and I’m looking forward to getting started here,”

Júlia said in her first interview with Liverpool. When asked about her style of play, Bartel replied,

“I want to have the ball. I am an assertive player, and I want to give these things to the team.”

The Reds are currently eighth in the league after finishing in fourth place last season. Let’s see if their new signings help them gain momentum for the remainder of the 2024/25 season! We’re excited to see how Bartel fits in with her new team.
